We want to take a moment to introduce you to our newest Paramedic, Career Firefighter Daren Betancourt.
Daren went to school to get his associates degree in Paramedicine while working his normal firefighters shift (24 hours on/48 hours off) and in the middle of the pandemic. After the classroom portion of school was done, he then had to intern on an ambulance at neighboring fire department to further practice his skills he learned in class. While on internship, he would only get 24 hours off to rest and study before having to spend the next 48 hours working at Cornelius and his internship in Newberg. On top of this, he was constantly dedicated to helping his family out when needed.
We are extremely proud of Daren's accomplishments to improve himself and better serve the citizens of Cornelius. Please join us in congratulating Daren on this phenomenal achievement.
