The pedestrian involved in the auto-pedestrian crash on January 5, 2023, died on January 7, 2023.

She is identified as Lourdes Turcios Garcia, 40, of Forest Grove.  Her family has been notified of her death.  The child involved in the crash was released from the hospital. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Forest Grove Police Department.

January 5, 2023

On Thursday, January 5, 2023, at approximately 6:50 a.m., Forest Grove Police Department Officers responded to an injury crash near the intersection of 19th Avenue and Hawthorne Street.  It was reported a vehicle struck a pedestrian.

On arrival, officers located an adult female pedestrian struck by a vehicle.  At the time of the crash, the pedestrian was also pushing a stroller containing a young child.  The adult was transported by Life Flight to the hospital with life threatening injuries and the child was transported by ambulance to the hospital with serious injuries.  The identities of the involved individuals are not being released at this time.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators.  Pacific Avenue and Hawthorne Street were closed for several hours while the investigation took place.  The crash is being investigated by the Forest Grove Police Department and members of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART).
