The Washington County Sheriff’s Office announced on May 11 that detectives arrested a caregiver accused of sexually abusing a resident at a care facility in the Raleigh Hills area. The arrest followed an investigation that began after staff contacted authorities with concerns about possible abuse.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the call on May 9 and brought in a detective from the Violent Crimes Unit to lead the case. Investigators identified Oscar Marquez-Alonso, age 25, as the employee suspected of abusing an elderly female resident during his employment at the facility. Marquez-Alonso had worked there for about one month before his arrest.
Marquez-Alonso was taken into custody and booked into Washington County Jail on two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of first-degree sodomy. The investigation remains ongoing, and officials said he may face additional charges. Detectives urged anyone who may be a victim or who has further information to contact the Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division at 503-846-2500, referencing case number 50-26-6407.
In accordance with Oregon House Bill 3273, detectives released Marquez-Alonzo’s booking photo in hopes of identifying any additional criminal activity connected to this case.
