Hillsboro voters will be represented by a majority of women on the Hillsboro City Council in 2023, a leadership feat accomplished briefly in 2008 as the result of a vacancy appointment.
Councilor-elect Kipperlyn Sinclair will join Councilors Olivia Alcaire, Beach Pace, and Gina Roletto on the Council when she is sworn into office on January 3, 2023.
In the November 2022 election, Sinclair received 41% of the votes in the six-way race for the Ward 2, Position A seat.
“Local governance is about people, place, priorities, and policy,” Sinclair said. “I want to further serve our Hillsboro community in creating Council priorities that help break barriers and provide equitable opportunities for our diverse community.”
City Council President Kyle Allen currently holds the Ward 2, Position A seat and will depart the Council in January after eight years due to term limits.
In the two other Council seats up for election in November 2022:
- Councilor Pace (Ward 1, Position A) won re-election with 58% of the vote
- Councilor Alcaire (Ward 3, Position A) won re-election with 57% of the vote
