Southridge’s Sara Mangan ties state record as teams advance in girls basketball playoffs

Southridge senior guard Sara Mangan matched the state record for career three-pointers in a 76-30 win over Roseburg during the first round of the 6A girls basketball playoffs. Mangan hit five three-pointers and scored 31 points, tying her with Taycee Wedin of La Salle Prep for the all-time lead at 359. Southridge established a strong lead early, ending the first quarter ahead 27-4. For Roseburg, Maddie Newton and Ansley Carollo each contributed 11 points.

Benson secured an 87-25 victory against Westview, led by Kemara Phillips with 23 points, eight steals, and three assists. Samarah Massey added 22 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Jayla Lackey had 15 points and eight rebounds while Kyoko Solis-Beasley contributed 13 points. Westview’s Claire Masury scored eight points; the team improved from five to eleven wins this season.

No. 2 West Linn defeated Jefferson 71-30 behind Kaylor Buse’s triple-double: 18 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists. Kinley Buse added 16 points and Reese Jordan finished with 13 points along with five rebounds and five assists. Mackenzee Lawrence scored a team-high seventeen for Jefferson.

Fourth-seeded South Medford advanced past Newberg with a score of 61-26 as Mayen Akpan recorded 24 points and Malia Taulani chipped in twelve.

Century eliminated Barlow by a margin of 66-44, receiving twenty points from Kiara Green and seventeen from Mia Brownson. Adia Fancher led Barlow with twenty-five points on seven three-pointers.

Beaverton made twenty-six out of thirty-one free throws to defeat Lincoln 72-60. Ruby Foord scored twenty-two—twenty coming in the second half—and Mila Watson had eighteen for Beaverton. Lincoln briefly led early in the second half before Beaverton went on a decisive run to take control heading into the fourth quarter. Jasa Lindsey posted thirty-two points including four three-pointers; Siri Lindsey added seventeen for Lincoln.

Oregon City maintained an eleven-point halftime lead to secure a win over Grant at 46-33. Livie Carns scored eighteen—nine in the third quarter—for Oregon City while Charlotte Wilson led Grant with fourteen.

Nelson beat Lakeridge by thirty as Love Forde collected seventeen points and thirteen rebounds; Nylah Webster contributed ten points and Aubrey Pentecost had eleven rebounds for Nelson. Charlotte Conyers led Lakeridge with twenty-five.

West Salem topped Central Catholic by a score of 76-44 thanks to Sami Griffin’s twenty-one points, twelve rebounds, and four steals; Emma Zuniga had twenty points plus eight rebounds; Lily Griffin provided fifteen along with eight assists. Sam Carlston and Coco Lerits each put up ten for Central Catholic.

Top-seeded Tualatin continued its title defense by defeating Forest Grove eighty to twenty-five after leading forty-eleven at halftime. The Timberwolves forced thirty-one turnovers while committing only five themselves; Love Lei Best (fourteen), Ries Miadich (thirteen), and Maaya Lucas (thirteen) paced Tualatin offensively while Cali Davis scored fifteen for Forest Grove.

Jesuit beat Cleveland fifty-two to twenty-seven as Amani Lubrano made six three-pointers—five before halftime—and totaled eighteen for Jesuit who led by twenty-four at intermission; Cate Kelly had eight for Cleveland.

Lake Oswego upset Grants Pass on the road forty-five to thirty-five behind Addie Sale’s twelve-point performance while Millie Lathen notched twenty for Grants Pass.

South Salem routed Wells fifty-nine to thirty-two behind double-digit scoring from Emma Burlison (twelve), Autumn Palmer (twelve), and Chica Casas (eleven). Six Saxons players connected on three-pointers; Iselie Spicer led Wells with eight.

Sherwood moved forward after beating Sprague sixty-three to forty-six as Audrey Poulivaati tallied seventeen; Tenley Bozeman followed with eleven while Jeslyn Armas and Zoe Sanders each added nine.

Sheldon needed overtime to edge McMinnville thirty-five to thirty-two as Jayden Mayernik managed ten points plus seven steals; Kaya Trumbull added twelve more for Sheldon while Brooklyn Summers delivered seventeen for McMinnville.

Mountainside won on the road against Clackamas forty-nine to twenty-nine after building leads of fifteen-three after one quarter and twenty-seven-ten at halftime. Geovanna Darlington registered fifteen for Mountainside alongside Kyle Proulx’s fourteen while Lily Oien paced Clackamas with twenty-one.
