On Saturday, March 14, Patrick Kilfoil, a former Jesuit High School standout, and his team, the Saint Martin’s Saints, were defeated 66-57 by the Point Loma Sea Lions in the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament.
The matchup, held at Pioneer Gymnasium at 5 p.m., marked the Saints’ first game against the Point Loma Sea Lions in the tournament.
These former West Portland area high school athletes are set to compete on Tuesday, April 14.
Clackamas High School captured its first Traditional title at this year’s OSAA dance/drill championships held at Salem Pavilion. New teams joined returning contenders across multiple categories while longtime coach Anne Ellett was honored for six decades of leadership.
Oregon’s high school baseball season began with upsets for several reigning champions and standout individual achievements across multiple teams. Pitchers like Jaxon Pelham, Tyson Smith, and Brandon Yee posted impressive numbers during opening games as underdog schools made strong starts.
