OSAAtoday released its statewide Softball Coaches Polls in all classifications on April 14. The polls reflect the opinions of coaches from across Oregon and are intended to generate interest and discussion during the spring season.
The poll results provide insight into team performances as the season progresses. OSAAtoday noted that these rankings do not affect the Oregon School Activities Association’s RPI or Colley ratings, which are used to determine playoff positions.
In Class 6A, Glencoe led with a record of 10-1, followed closely by West Linn and Sherwood. Caldera topped the Class 5A poll with an undefeated record of 11-0. In Class 4A, Scappoose secured first place with ten wins and one loss. Dayton led Class 3A at 11-2, while Weston-McEwen was ranked first in the combined Class 2A/1A standings.
The polls also listed teams that dropped out since the previous ranking and those receiving significant votes but not making it into the top ten. OSAAtoday stated that updated polls will be published every other Tuesday throughout the spring season.
The publication thanked participating coaches for their time and expertise in compiling these rankings.
