Linfield Wildcats top La Verne 9-5 behind former Jesuit pitcher Ingalls

At 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22, the Linfield Wildcats—featuring former Jesuit High School standout Johnny Ingalls—secured a 9-5 win in their NCAA Division III baseball contest against the La Verne Leopards.

The matchup was held at Ben Hines Field and marked the teams’ fourth meeting this season. The previous day, Saturday, Feb. 21, the Wildcats fell to the Leopards 16-5.

Ingalls pitched one inning, allowing one earned run and striking out one batter.

The Wildcats’ upcoming game is set for Saturday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m. against the George Fox Bruins at Curtis and Margaret Morse Athletic Fields.
